Objectives

The ACT-YOU project was designed with the core objective of strengthening the quality, inclusiveness, and impact of youth work involving young people with fewer opportunities, with a particular focus on young persons with disabilities. In this perspective, the project set out to support the professional development of youth workers by equipping them with practical skills, knowledge, and methodologies to better understand and respond to the diverse needs of their target groups. A central objective was to enhance their capacity to design and implement accessible and inclusive activities, based on non-formal, participatory, and experiential learning approaches. Another key objective was to build and consolidate a transnational community of youth workers and organisations whose action is focused on the inclusion of marginalised youth in Europe. Through peer learning and exchange of practices, the project aimed to strengthen cooperation and knowledge-sharing across local, national and European contexts. Finally, the project intended to promote core European values such as human rights, democracy, participation, and social inclusion. It aimed to support youth workers in integrating these principles into their daily practice, ultimately contributing to more equitable and participatory environments for young people.
