The GreenCode Project was created to bridge the gap between youth actions and the impact on environmental sustainability. The project thematic area, which is also listed as youth goal #10, Sustainable Green Europe, aims to encourage young people to rethink their relationship with the environment. It also increases the capacities of youth by making them environmentally active, educated, and able to make a difference. Considering that technology and digital tools comprise the “language” that youth understand the most, the project team had opted out from the traditional theoretical methods of presenting sustainability. The project also used scaling methods as multipliers for raising awareness as a call to action. In this way, youth participants in the program act as advocates for sustainability in their own regions. The project also fostered active citizenship. Through collaborative activities, participants were encouraged to reflect on local environmental challenges, share experiences from their countries, and present realistic solutions that could be adapted to different contexts. The project objectives were: 1. Use of digital tools and platforms to raise awareness about environmental issues and the importance of sustainability. 2. Conduct workshops and sessions on digital transformation, promoting Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). 3. Encourage youth to use digital tools to adopt eco-friendly habits and provide practical examples and resources that resonate with various lifestyles and environments. 4. Lead youth to become active citizens in their communities for sustainability, creating podcasts and digital storytelling to empower and spread their voices. 5. Help youth become sustainability superheroes with the power of digital knowledge and make being green the new trend on social media. 6. Promote Erasmus+ as a wonderful opportunity for all. Emphasize how engaging in international exchanges can broaden their perspectives and enhance their sustainability initiatives. 7. Involve young people with fewer opportunities, especially those in rural or limited-resource areas. Who often face challenges related to culture, geography, society, and finances.
