Objectives

The “Right to Speak” podcast was created to give young people from socially stigmatized groups a voice and take back ownership of their stories. The first season provided new insights and energy, focusing on the vulnerability and openness of young people. Through their expert guidance, the youth regained control of their stories. After this first season, Vivian and Sara want to continue with a focus on participation, engaging youth from youth care in conversations about topics such as education, justice, and youth services. These conversations will take place among themselves as well as with policymakers and other professionals. The goals include empowering youth, breaking down stereotypes, and creating mutual understanding between youth and involved actors. In doing so, they hope to stimulate a broader conversation about the needs in Special Youth Care and change policy (at various levels).
