Objectives

The proposed project closely aligns with the objectives set out in the application. By focusing on peer-to-peer education, we encourage young people to take responsibility for their own learning process and that of their peers. This not only promotes personal growth, but also active participation and intercultural awareness. The European Parliament simulation offers a powerful non-formal learning environment in which young people gain insight into complex political structures. They not only learn how Europe works, but also develop skills such as argumentation, compromise and presenting points of view in an international context. The project contributes to the EU Youth Strategy by actively involving young people in issues that they themselves consider relevant. This creates a direct link between their lives and broader European policy, which strengthens their involvement in democratic processes. In addition, a conscious decision has been made to communicate in English, which not only promotes language skills but also stimulates intercultural dialogue. By challenging them to step outside their comfort zone, young people learn to deal with mistakes and differences in a constructive way. Finally, the project offers ample opportunities to develop soft skills and learning competences, such as independent learning, collaboration and critical thinking. By actively participating in the project, young people build a stronger European identity and learn how to make a positive contribution to society as active citizens.
