Objectives

From a youth work perspective, Breaking Walls to Employability aims to create a lasting impact on young participants by addressing employability challenges, promoting inclusivity, and empowering them to engage with the labor market. Targeting marginalized and underrepresented youth, the project equips them with the skills, confidence, and networks needed to succeed. The key objectives include: Empowering Entrepreneurial and Problem-Solving Skills Equip participants with entrepreneurial skills and problem-solving capabilities to tackle employment challenges in a dynamic job market, fostering resilience and adaptability to become proactive problem-solvers. Sharing Best Practices and Understanding Global Employment Markets Create a platform for sharing best practices in employability and inclusion, allowing participants to engage in cross-cultural exchanges that enhance their understanding of employment opportunities and challenges in diverse contexts. Soft Skills Development and Fostering a 'Can-Do' Attitude Focus on developing soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and leadership while nurturing a positive attitude toward the labor market, enabling participants to pursue opportunities with enthusiasm and resilience. Effective Dissemination and Multiplier Effect in Local Communities Empower participants to share their knowledge and skills within their communities, ensuring a multiplier effect that fosters broader development and increased employability at the grassroots level. Developing Inclusive Practices for Marginalized Groups Promote awareness and develop practices addressing the challenges faced by marginalized groups, including Black and Minority Ethnic (BME), LGBTQI+, and disabled youth, contributing to a more inclusive labor market. Encouraging Self-Reflection and Personal Branding Provide tools for self-reflection on participants' unique strengths and marketable skills, enabling them to present themselves effectively and develop a personal narrative aligned with their career aspirations. Aligning with European Union Youth Employment Initiatives Align the project with EU initiatives like the Youth Guarantee and Youth Employment Initiative (YEI) to address local employability challenges while contributing to broader goals of reducing youth unemployment. Promoting Intercultural Understanding and Global Collaboration Foster intercultural understanding and collaboration, encouraging positive attitudes toward diverse cultures and building a globally aware youth community that values diversity. Enhancing Digital and Social Media Literacy Equip participants with advanced digital and social media skills, enabling them to utilize technology for self-promotion and advocacy for marginalized groups in the job market. Encouraging Leadership and Initiative Cultivate leadership qualities and initiative among participants, empowering them to take charge of project activities, facilitate peer learning, and develop creative solutions to employment challenges. Ensuring Lasting Impact Beyond the Project Conclusion Establish sustainable networks and integrate outcomes into local initiatives, ensuring a lasting impact beyond the project's conclusion. Participants will become advocates for continuous improvement in employability and inclusion efforts. Through these objectives, Breaking Walls to Employability aims to significantly contribute to youth work practice, equipping young people with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to thrive in the labor market. The project addresses immediate challenges and fosters long-term change by promoting inclusivity, intercultural understanding, and leadership among youth communities across Europe.
