Objectives

Based exactly on the original program application, with this project the primary goal was the empowerment of young people to confront life's uncertainties with resilience and confidence. By fostering an environment conducive to self-discovery and growth, this initiative seeked to enhance personal development, interpersonal skills, and cultural awareness among participants. Divided into 5 sections, the objectives were the following 1 - Empowering Personal Development The core objective of the project was to facilitate personal development by providing young people with opportunities for self-discovery and reflection. Through a series of engaging workshops and shared activities, participants confronted and overcame their fears, developing practical skills to manage and conquer challenges. This focus on self-improvement aimed to build resilience and confidence, equipping young people with the tools to navigate the complexities of life effectively. 2 – To enhance interpersonal skills and cross-cultural understanding The project had the goal to promote cross-cultural learning, allowing participants to benefit from diverse perspectives through intercultural exchange. While expanded upon below, this is why the project had both a preparation phase (with research done by young participants from each country and shared during the YE itself). y interacting with peers from different backgrounds, participants gained a deeper understanding of themselves and others. This experience enhanced their interpersonal skills, fostered empathy, and encouraged openness to new experiences. The exchange of ideas and cultural insights not only broadened their horizons but also built a sense of global citizenship. 3 – To promote social inclusion and equal opportunities A key objective was to promote social inclusion and equal opportunities for all participants, ensuring that every individual had the chance to engage fully in the project. In fact, the project itself had 15 participants with fewer opportunities. The project ultimately created sense of belonging and community. This inclusive approach helped address social barriers and contributed to the overall social well-being of participants, making sure that everyone, regardless of their background, could benefit from the project's offerings. 4 – To raise awareness of mental health issues The project also sought to raise awareness about mental health issues among youth. Through discussions, workshops, and activities focused on mental well-being, participants gained insights into the importance of mental health and strategies for maintaining it. This awareness empowered them to seek support when needed and to promote mental health advocacy within their communities. 5 - Creating a Supportive and Transformative Environment Overall, the project aimed to create a supportive and inclusive environment where young people felt encouraged to step outside their comfort zones. By embracing the unknown and participating in transformative activities, they embarked on a journey of self-discovery that not only enhanced their personal growth but also equipped them to effect positive change in their communities and beyond. In short, the project was dedicated to fostering personal and interpersonal development, promoting cultural understanding, ensuring social inclusion, and raising mental health awareness. The entirety of the project, as well as the Youth Exchange itself was built to reach this goal.
