Objectives

Youth unemployment in the EU has reached alarming levels, with the Eurostat reporting a historic high of 11.2% in 2023, significantly affecting young people, especially those with only lower secondary education. This challenge, particularly acute in several member states like Greece, Spain, Cyprus and Italy, poses risks to social cohesion and political stability. To address this urgent issue, the ERASMUS+ project titled "Develop your Skills" will take place in Agros, Cyprus, from July 11-29, 2025. The project will involve a youth exchange program for 25 participants and 5 group leaders from five European countries. Aims: The initiative seeks to: Reduce Youth Unemployment: Facilitate young people's participation in the labor market through training and information dissemination on modern employment practices and soft skills. Skill Development: Equip participants with practical tools to enhance employability, including CV writing, interview preparation, and the completion of Youthpass and Europass. Exchange of Best Practices: Encourage groups to present their national priorities and procedures, discuss similarities and differences, and propose improvements to existing systems. Methodology: The program will employ a mix of theoretical and practical approaches: Workshops and Seminars: Participants will engage in simulations, brainstorming activities, and poster presentations. Site Visits: Attendees will visit startups and local authorities to gain firsthand experience. Cultural Exchange: Intercultural Nights will allow participants to explore diverse cultures, enhancing social and cultural awareness. Expected Outcomes: Skill Acquisition: Participants will develop essential soft skills such as problem-solving, adaptability, and conflict resolution, crucial for maintaining employment. Cultural Understanding: The project aims to foster relationships among youth from different backgrounds, enriching their perspectives and promoting inclusivity. Knowledge Dissemination: An electronic tool will be created to share knowledge, available on participating youth organizations' websites. By focusing on both digital and soft skills, this project aims not only to improve employability but also to enrich personal development, empowering young people to thrive in various aspects of life.
