Objectives

The idea behind developing the proposed project arose from the desire of the young people with whom CEDAR works or is engaged with and who identified a need for training on equality and human right issues. CEDAR recognises how important it is that youth is equipped with democratic values to be politically aware and active citizens. This prompted CEDAR to start a dialogue with young people with the aim of exchanging views on what is happening with regards to the challenges and perspectives for a more transparent and open to youth participation in equality and human rights issues. The aim of the proposed program is to confront youth with a critical review of incidents on inequality and human rights violation that place in the EU, and in Cyprus, with a view to fostering critical thinking and capacity to determine their antecedents, predict their consequences, and think about the possible solutions as well as the good practices that can be mobilised to address or prevent them.
