The aim of the RTYEC project was to educate youth using non-formal education methods on the topics of ongoing climate change and its effects on the environment and human lives, on the topic of the ever-growing number of forcibly displaced people due to climate change and its effects and the associated increasingly frequent and intense climate disasters, on the so-called climate refugees and the topic of human rights and the need to ensure respect for human rights and a quality life for this new disadvantaged group. As part of the project, we also used non-formal education methods to provide participants with sustainability competencies, familiarize them with technologies and techniques to reduce the environmental impacts of their lifestyles, and educate them on the impacts of climate change on the environment and on life in their communities, and other challenges that they will have to address in the near future due to climate change. Together with the participants, we created the musical "Refugees of tomorrow", which documents the fate of climate refugees forcibly displaced due to climate change and climate disasters, we drew attention to their suffering and the need to ensure and respect their human rights and the right to a quality life. Last but not least, we implemented a social campaign with project partners and participants to raise awareness of the topic of ongoing climate change and its effects on the environment, the topic of people forcibly displaced due to climate change, its effects and the increasing number of climate disasters, and the topic of the need to respect human rights and ensure a quality life for this group of people.
