Objectives

The project focuses on the professional development of job advisors, career counselors, and mentors who support unemployed youth aged 18 to 29 in their career development. Young people represent one of the most vulnerable groups in the labor market across the three participating countries; however, significant differences in their challenges and opportunities can provide valuable insights and inspiration for improvement. In the Czech Republic, youth unemployment is often linked to low or unsuitable qualifications, poverty, social exclusion, and health disabilities. Norway offers robust programs for career counselors, a high level of digital technology integration in training and counseling, and extensive research on social policy, which serve as potential sources of inspiration. Meanwhile, Slovenia emphasizes inclusive programs, innovative approaches to opening the education system, and the use of mobile applications to motivate young people in their career development, which are key areas of interest for Czech participants. All three partners share a common goal: to empower youth workers—such as job advisors, career counselors, and mentors—to assist and motivate young individuals in securing employment or qualifications. This involves encouraging personal development, providing individual coaching, integrating young people with disabilities or those facing challenging circumstances in the labor market, and motivating school dropouts to return to education. This complex and demanding work involves various aspects and requires diverse methods and competencies among youth workers in the employability field. The project aims to facilitate learning from the experiences and best practices developed and proven effective in countries where these specific issues are being addressed successfully. The specific objectives of the project aim to enhance the knowledge and professional competencies of the target group in the effective use of digital tools. This includes sharing experiences and best practices among youth workers supporting unemployed individuals across various organizations, such as NGOs focused on education and youth work, labor offices, and social research organizations in three European countries (Czech Republic, Slovenia, and Norway). The project also seeks to acquire innovative and inspiring tools and methods for counseling, mentoring, and motivating unemployed youth, as well as promoting inclusion in the labor market. Additionally, it aims to strengthen European cooperation among youth workers, job advisors, career counselors, and mentors.
