The project aimed to increase young people's awareness of gender equality and human rights while providing a safe intercultural learning environment where participants could exchange experiences and reflect on challenges faced in their own societies. Bringing together participants from countries with different social and cultural contexts, but also with shared regional realities, created opportunities to compare both common and distinct challenges related to gender equality, discrimination and human rights. This enabled participants to better understand how different contexts shape these issues while recognising that many challenges are shared across borders. Through non-formal education, we sought to strengthen participants' knowledge of gender-related human rights issues, challenge stereotypes and discrimination, and encourage respect for diversity and inclusion. Another key objective was to develop participants' competences in critical thinking, intercultural communication, teamwork and active citizenship. Throughout the programme, participants explored topics such as gender stereotypes, media representation, intersectionality, LGBTQI+ rights, gender-based violence and advocacy, enabling them to better understand the relationship between gender equality and human rights. The project also aimed to empower young people to become active multipliers within their local communities by equipping them with practical tools to design awareness-raising initiatives and follow-up activities. At the same time, the partnership sought to strengthen long-term cooperation between the participating organisations and promote the exchange of good practices in youth work. The project also contributed to several EU Youth Goals, particularly Gender Equality, Inclusive Societies and Connecting EU with Youth. By bringing together participants from EU Member States and neighbouring partner countries, it strengthened mutual understanding and demonstrated the importance of cross-border cooperation in addressing shared social challenges.
