Objectives

The independent artistic youth organisations Kulturanova from Novi Sad (Serbia) and IMAL Musiktheater from Munich (Germany) are joining forces to engage young adults in Europe! Objective of the project is to enable young adults to experience active cooperation and participation in a European collaboration, to discover diversity and to practice inclusion across European borders and thus create space for mutual learning and understanding of our complex world. Through the power of artistic expression, the almost fifty young participants from both countries will come together to create, rehearse, and perform a piece of musical theatre on stage in Novi Sad. In terms of content of the piece of musical theater, they will tackle topics important to their generation and to this group, where the biggest issue is raising awareness for sexual and gender identities, strengthening their mental health and expressing their own feelings, even in critical phases of life as well as dealing with climate change and nature protection with their own local contribution. All steps from idea to realisation will be co-created by the youngsters, supported by a team of professionals. Both organisations, Kulturanova and IMAL Musiktheater, have great experience in the field of professional youth work in musical theatre. They are familiar with the difficulties and the achievements of collaborating with a target group that has very different experiences, abilities and opportunities in life. Outcome of the exchange is to inspire strong Europeans, enhance their professional skills, foster democratic values, and support them in forming their own political and social identity. As the young people take part on a voluntary basis, they will cultivate tolerance and respect, develop new language skills and add new intercultural competences.
