Objectives

The project aimed to engage young people from all partner countries in addressing the complex challenges of climate change through awareness, action, and cooperation, and its objectives aimed to ensure visible learning, practical community impact, and durable collaboration: Raising Awareness was targeted and fully achieved through a combination of interactive workshops, non-formal learning sessions, and local awareness campaigns in which young participants learned about climate change, sustainable development, and eco-responsibility; many reported through post-project surveys a significant increase in their understanding of environmental challenges and their motivation to act locally, and the online campaign reached a wide audience across social media platforms, far exceeding initial expectations. Promoting Green Practices aimed to translate learning into behaviour and community action as participants co-designed and implemented eco-initiatives at local and regional levels-including community clean-ups, waste separation systems in youth centres, and tree-planting actions-which involved community members and contributed to tangible environmental improvements; the project also introduced a peer network that continued to promote sustainable lifestyles even after the project’s completion, going beyond the original plan. Supporting Adaptation and Resilience aimed to build practical skills through workshops and simulation games that helped participants explore climate adaptation strategies relevant to their regions, such as water conservation, urban greening, and local energy efficiency, while youth-led pilot actions like micro-garden systems and rainwater collection prototypes demonstrated real-life applications of the knowledge gained. Fostering Regional Cooperation aimed to create a lasting cross-border network of environmentally active youth, and through joint events, digital collaboration spaces, and intercultural exchanges, young people from different countries built shared strategies and toolkits for climate education. Alignment with Erasmus+ and the European Youth Strategy aimed to strengthen young people’s competencies, promote inclusion, and encourage active engagement in social and environmental causes, and through non-formal learning methods participants developed soft skills-communication, teamwork, organisation, problem-solving, and intercultural awareness-that enhanced both their employability and their personal growth; workshops and experiential sessions addressed critical global issues like climate change, global warming, and environmental sustainability, fostering a sense of shared responsibility and civic participation, while an inclusive learning environment enabled young people with fewer opportunities to participate equally, thereby reinforcing social inclusion and equal access. In line with UN Sustainable Development Goal 13 (Climate Action), the project aimed to encourage active citizenship, social inclusion, youth participation, and the development of key competencies, and by empowering young people to engage in discussions, challenge stereotypes, and take action, it contributed not only to environmental awareness but also to the long-term strengthening of youth engagement and solidarity across Europe.
