Objectives

The rapid digitalization of everyday life has significantly changed how young people interact with the world, often resulting in reduced contact with nature and limited awareness of pressing environmental challenges. At the same time, environmental pollution, climate change, and the depletion of natural resources have emerged as some of the most urgent global issues, largely driven by unsustainable consumption patterns and the impacts of globalization. Young people both contribute to and are affected by these problems, yet they are also key actors in creating long-term solutions. This project was designed to respond to these challenges by reconnecting young people with nature and strengthening their sense of environmental responsibility through experiential learning. The project aimed to draw young people’s attention away from excessive screen time, social media, and digital games, and instead encourage direct engagement with the natural environment. Through this approach, participants were supported in critically reflecting on global environmental problems, understanding the extent to which individual and collective behaviors contribute to these issues, and exploring practical ways to reduce their environmental footprint. The project applied informal and non-formal education methods in line with the Erasmus+ Programme, including presentations, role plays, group tasks, and discussions, ensuring active participation and meaningful learning experiences. Intercultural learning and exchange were integral components of the project and were reinforced through energizers and icebreaker activities that strengthened group cohesion, mutual understanding, and team spirit. Additionally, the project aimed to facilitate international collaboration by providing a platform for young people from six countries to exchange best practices, share experiences, and lay the groundwork for future Erasmus+ cooperation. Project outputs such as the “Eco-Friendly Living Standards” guideline and the short film “I’m the Forest” were developed as awareness-raising tools, designed to communicate environmental messages in an accessible and creative way. These outputs supported the dissemination of project results beyond the participant group, encouraged reflection on sustainable lifestyles, and inspired wider audiences to adopt environmentally responsible behaviors while highlighting the role of young people as active agents of change. Objectives: - Encourage participants to spend more time in nature and develop a stronger connection with the natural environment. - Raise awareness about environmental pollution, climate change, and global warming as major challenges facing the planet. - Enable participants to identify personal habits that contribute to environmental problems and support them in changing these behaviors. - Guide participants towards more sustainable consumption habits and responsible use of resources. - Support participants in developing and proposing practical solutions to reduce environmental pollution, such as recycling, reducing waste, saving energy, lowering greenhouse gas emissions, and conserving natural resources. - Encourage young people to take part in volunteering activities and environmental projects at local, national, and international levels. - Empower participants by increasing their awareness of concrete actions they can take to make a positive and lasting impact on the environment.
