Through this project, we aimed to bridge the gap between young people and global challenges by raising awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in an innovative and engaging way. Our key objective was to make the SDGs more accessible and understandable for young people by using comics as a tool to explain complex ideas in a fun and relatable format. We also wanted to empower young people to take an active role in creating these comics, which not only strengthened their understanding of global issues but also supported the development of important competences such as creativity, communication, and critical thinking. From a youth work practice perspective, the project sought to increase youth participation by directly involving young people in the comic creation process. This participatory approach fostered ownership of the learning process and ensured that young people were not only recipients of information, but also active creators of content that could inspire their peers. In addition, the project aimed to strengthen participants’ digital skills through the use of digital tools and platforms in designing and producing comics. Another important goal was to explore how comics can be used as a powerful educational and advocacy tool, capable of communicating impactful messages about the SDGs to a wider audience. Overall, the project was designed to make the SDGs more understandable and relevant, and to inspire young people to take an active role in building a more just, fair and sustainable world. By involving youth in a creative process, the project aimed to encourage stronger interest in global issues and support their role as active contributors in their communities. Main objectives of the project were: To raise awareness about the SDGs by using comics to make them easier for young people to understand (including through creating and sharing comics in a fun and engaging way). To encourage youth participation by actively involving young people in creating comics about the SDGs. To help young people develop important skills such as critical thinking, creativity, and communication through comic creation. To explore how comics can be used to send powerful messages and engage people in meaningful ways.
