Our project was implemented with the aim of strengthening young people's environmental awareness, sustainable living, and creative thinking skills. Today’s increasing consumption habits, the culture of single-use products, and the rapid depletion of nature’s limited resources clearly reveal the importance of eco-friendly approaches and the circular economy. Based on these facts, the project was designed to promote the concept of reusing waste materials (upcycling) among young people and to combine this concept with social, artistic, and cultural activities. The main goal of the project is not only to strengthen young people's environmental awareness but also to transform them into active, creative, and responsible individuals. Working together with their peers from different countries, participants have learned environmentally conscious lifestyles and developed intercultural communication and cooperation skills. Through workshops, group activities, and outdoor events organized in line with this goal, participants experienced how to transform recyclable materials into artistic products, analyze the impact of waste on the environment, and understand the power of reuse in creating social awareness. Throughout the project, young people used their creativity to produce their own handmade items, which were later shared through exhibitions and presentations. In addition, in order not to limit the project’s impact only to the camp area or participant groups, activities were organized to raise awareness within the local community. Among these were flashmob events emphasizing environmental consciousness, open-air performances with eco-friendly messages, and visual presentations that attracted public attention. In this way, the project aimed to raise environmental sustainability awareness not only among the participating youth but also within the local community. “Upcycling for a Bright Future” also supported the values of green transition, ecological responsibility, and active citizenship in line with the priorities of the Erasmus+ programme. The project aimed to demonstrate that young people can be part of change both individually and collectively and to enhance their capacity to produce creative and collective solutions to environmental challenges.
