Objectives

The world is experiencing one of the darkest periods in history, like an ocean rapidly drying up before our eyes, under the threat of depletion of its natural resources and global warming. In this challenging period, protecting the future of our planet and managing our water resources sustainably has become a greater necessity than ever. Water, as the basic source of life and the lifeblood of ecosystems, is of critical importance not only for our individual lives but also for the sustainability of our planet's health. However, current problems are causing these valuable resources to be depleted rapidly and the water security of future generations to be under great threat. A large portion of freshwater resources are inaccessible and the limited amount that remains is gradually decreasing. This situation is causing water scarcity to deepen worldwide and especially in arid regions. The risk of water scarcity and drought has increased in Europe; this threat becomes even more evident in some regions, especially in the summer months. Water management is of critical importance in Germany. Although daily water consumption is high, hidden water consumption stands out as a significant problem in the agricultural and industrial sectors. Hidden water consumption refers to water use that cannot be directly observed but has an important place in our lives, and this hidden consumption is a factor that threatens the sustainability of our water resources. In this context, it is of great importance to increase young people's knowledge and awareness about hidden water consumption, to ensure that they understand the environmental impacts of this consumption, and to encourage them to take a more active role in water conservation. The large water consumption and environmental impacts caused by hidden water consumption are hidden in the choices we make without realizing it. Therefore, raising young people's awareness on this issue will be a critical step in achieving water conservation both individually and socially. The aim of our project is to reduce environmental impact by informing young people about hidden water consumption, creating awareness on this issue, and providing competence in sustainable water use. In line with this purpose, our goals are as follows: -Increasing young people's knowledge and awareness levels about hidden water consumption. -Developing young people's awareness of the negative impacts of this consumption. -Increasing young people's motivation in water conservation and encouraging them to take an active role.
