We wanted to strengthen youth workers’ capacities to create more sustainable, inclusive, and wellbeing-oriented learning spaces by combining regenerative leadership with practical permaculture skills. Our objectives were to (1) introduce and practice regenerative, nature-based leadership approaches, (2) build hands-on competences in permaculture and sustainable agriculture (e.g., soil regeneration, composting, mushroom cultivation, natural fertilisers), (3) translate permaculture principles into youth work and organisational practice (e.g., participatory facilitation, community-building, resilience, and programme design), and (4) use gardening and nature-based activities as tools for mental wellbeing and community development. We also aimed to create a strong learning community that supports peer-learning, reflection, and follow-up actions, so participants feel confident to replicate the practices in their own organisations and local contexts.
