Objectives

The project's goal was to help youth workers and organizations improve their skills in working with young volunteers in an ever-evolving digital world. The ways in which young people are engaged have changed significantly in recent years, primarily due to the growing use of online platforms and digital communication technologies. This has made it difficult for traditional youth workers to communicate and understand young people, as they have different ways of expressing themselves and different expectations. From a youth work perspective, the initiative addressed the need to update youth engagement methods by providing youth workers with the necessary technological and communication skills. The goal was not only to engage a greater number of people, but also to improve the quality of interaction, motivation, and long-term commitment of young volunteers to community life. The initiative set three main objectives to achieve this goal. First, to help 29 youth workers from 9 countries learn, over the course of a year, how to use digital tools to communicate and collaborate in new and creative ways. Second, it facilitated the use of social media and other online tools by volunteers, providing at least one training activity for each partner organization. Third, the project aimed to encourage the sharing of best practices and peer learning among participating organizations, thus enhancing international cooperation and mutual knowledge exchange. The project helped youth workers learn and apply these skills, fostering their professional growth and making it easier for the participating organizations to address modern issues related to youth engagement. Ultimately, the project's goal was to make volunteering and community development more accessible, useful, and attractive to young people.
