Objectives

The project aimed to bridge a critical gap in mental health support for young refugees, migrants, and resettlers by equipping youth workers, educators, and volunteers with easy-to-implement, non-stigmatizing therapeutic tools. Because formal psychological support is often stigmatized within migrant communities, the overarching goal was to establish a safe, creative environment using art-, culture-, and nature-therapeutic methods. These methods allowed young migrants to process past challenges while actively building for the future. Across two mobilities in Cyprus and Germany, the project provided participants with a specialized toolkit designed to be transferred directly to their home organizations and local communities. The core objectives of the project were: 1. Foster Inclusive Education and Training: Equip youth workers with the knowledge and skills necessary to build inclusive environments that facilitate the social and educational integration of young immigrants, addressing their specific challenges and ensuring equitable access to personal development opportunities. 2. Promote Youth Empowerment: Introduce innovative, creative, art-, culture-, and nature-based methodologies that boost self-confidence, foster self-expression, and instill a strong sense of belonging among young refugees and migrants. 3. Support Health and Well-being: Provide youth workers with actionable interventions—such as stress management techniques and supportive peer networks—to improve physical and psychological resilience and smooth the adaptation process. 4. Encourage Participation in Civic Life: Deliver training modules on rights, responsibilities, mutual respect, and cultural diversity to empower young immigrants to participate actively in civic life and contribute meaningfully to their new communities. By addressing the key thematic pillars of reception and integration, physical and mental well-being, and creative expression, the project aimed to turn a daunting adaptation journey into a structured, supportive path aligned with Erasmus+ priorities in youth empowerment, education, and social inclusion.
