The participants of our training for scout-youthleaders will deal in an interactive way with questions of democracy education and democracy safeguarding. They will have the opportunity to express their own as well as their organizations‘ point of view on this topic, raise their awareness for their own role as youth leaders in the long-term upkeep of democracy and they receive impulses and input on how to work on these topics with young people and in international youth meetings, they recognize themselves as actors in the pre-political space and are strengthened in their role as facilitators of non-formal education. Through the participants, who are active youth leaders, the results of the training will affect the youth groups of the partner organizations. Based on the example of democracy education, the participants will also learn how to use Europe as a learning environment for their youth organization and how to include a European com-ponent into their practical work. By this, following the scout method of ‘learning by doing’, the European level can be experienced as a level for the reaching of agreement about values as well as for the collec-tive development of methods for the long-term securing of these values. This will lead to a strong identifi-cation with those values and in the future to an active contribution as multipliers.
