Objectives

We wanted to achieve stronger skills and competences among youth workers so they could work in a more creative, engaging, and inclusive way. The project was created to help youth workers feel more confident when using non-formal education methods that supported creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression. We wanted youth workers to feel ready to work with sensitive topics such as discrimination, identity, and social exclusion. One of the main things we wanted to achieve was to introduce new and innovative methodologies in youth work. We focused on Loesje creative writing and Digital Storytelling because these methods supported free expression and active participation. Through Loesje creative writing, participants learned how to create strong messages invented by themselves, not copied from the internet. Through Digital Storytelling, participants learned how to tell stories using digital tools and artificial intelligence in a simple and responsible way. We wanted these methods to become practical tools for youth workers in their local work. The objectives of the project were clear and concrete. One objective was to train youth workers from different countries in Loesje creative writing and Digital Storytelling. We wanted participants to understand the full process of these methods and to be able to use them independently after the training. Another objective was to raise awareness about the importance of digital approaches in youth work and how digital tools could support inclusion instead of creating more exclusion. We also wanted to increase the capacity of participating organisations. By improving the competences of youth workers, organisations became stronger and more able to organise high-quality and inclusive activities. The project aimed to make local youth work more attractive to young people and more connected to their real needs and interests.
