Objectives

The project “Young Gifted Black Europe” was initiated with the aim of bringing together young Black, African, and Afro-diasporic people from different European countries to enable exchange, networking, and shared learning. The starting point was the observation that many young people across Europe share similar experiences, while opportunities for connection often remain limited to national or local contexts. A key objective of the project was therefore to create a Europe-wide space where young people could meet, learn from one another, and exchange perspectives on their lives, experiences, and visions for the future. The focus was not only on dialogue but also on active participation and co-creation by the participants themselves. Another important focus was education and personal development. Through a diverse program of workshops, discussions, and creative formats, participants were encouraged to explore new perspectives, develop skills, and engage with topics such as identity, belonging, social participation, and civic engagement. Furthermore, the project aimed to build long-term networks between young people and organizations across Europe. These connections are intended to continue beyond the project and serve as a foundation for future collaborations, exchanges, and initiatives. An additional objective was to strengthen youth-led organization and initiative. The project was planned and implemented by an informal group of young people from different European countries, allowing them to gain practical experience in project management, teamwork, and international cooperation. Overall, the project aimed to combine exchange, education, and networking in order to contribute to the empowerment of young people and to foster sustainable collaboration on a European level.
