The implementation of the project "#YOUR REGION – YOUR EU" (hereinafter: DRDE) aimed to encourage young people to actively participate in shaping both their region and Europe. Through youth participation events focusing on regional development, participants were given the opportunity to develop their own ideas and solutions to local challenges and discuss them directly with political decision-makers. A key objective of the project was to make European civic education tangible by using EU Cohesion Policy as a practical example. Participants were expected to understand how decisions taken at the European level affect their region and how the European Union supports local communities in addressing societal challenges. At the same time, the project sought to highlight concrete opportunities for participation and strengthen awareness of the importance of democratic engagement. Accordingly, the project pursued three main objectives: - To strengthen European civic education through EU regional policy by demonstrating how European decisions affect regional development. - To enable young people to jointly develop political solutions to local challenges, allowing them to contribute their own perspectives and ideas. - To facilitate direct dialogue between young people and political representatives, thereby fostering exchange between young citizens and political decision-makers and increasing the likelihood that the participants' ideas for regional development would be considered in political decision-making processes.
