The project was designed to bring together a diverse group of young people and create a supportive learning environment where they could reflect on their relationship with the online world. As digital solutions such as social media, virtual tools, AI and apps are deeply integrated into everyday life, many young people find it difficult to maintain healthy boundaries. This youth exchange aimed to provide a space where participants could analyse their own digital behaviour, understand where their time goes, reflect on what benefits them and recognise what drains their energy. Our goal was to establish a framework in which young people are the ones shaping their own learning experience, by proposing ways to address the topic of digital transformation and how to use available tools to the means until they serve us. The project encouraged participants to critically evaluate their online habits, identify the difference between productive and unproductive screen time and find ways to balance digital engagement with offline experiences. By promoting digital literacy and mindful use of technology, it aimed to strengthen the overall well-being of participants. Through discussions, workshops and face-to-face interaction, the project also created opportunities to build social skills, form meaningful connections and encourage personal growth. Special attention was given to those from disadvantaged backgrounds, who may lack access to guidance or resources regarding online safety and digital opportunities. By providing a structured environment to explore and understand digital tools, the project aimed to level the playing field and ensure that all participants would benefit from improved digital skills and awareness. The objectives of the project were to: → Evaluate Online Usage: We wanted to provide a space for young people to assess how they engage with digital platforms. By understanding their current online habits, participants could identify areas where they would benefit from changes or improvements. → Identify Useful Tools: Through the project, participants learned to discern which tools are truly useful for their personal and professional development, helping them make more informed decisions about their digital interactions. → Foster Balanced Use: By examining their online habits and the tools they use, participants could develop a more balanced approach to digital technology. This project helped them learn how to maximise the benefits of online tools while minimising potential drawbacks. → Promote Digital Well-being: Ultimately, the goal was to enhance the overall well-being of young people by empowering them to use online resources more thoughtfully and effectively. We aimed to support them in creating a healthier relationship with the digital world. → Refine Communication Skills: Enhance both inter- and intrapersonal skills to improve self-perception and interactions with others, while developing intercultural awareness. → Apply Skills Locally: Transferring the skills and insights gained to their home countries to enhance their local communities and improve the effectiveness of partner organisations’ work in their local spheres.
