Objectives

By encouraging movement, creative expression, and a stronger connection with nature, this project seeks to provide youth workers and educators with practical tools to empower young people, especially those from vulnerable groups, to effectively navigate the challenges of the modern world. - Enhance understanding of how to cultivate an environment that fosters safety for young people to express themselves honestly, share experiences, empathise, and establish peer support, with a particular focus on the inclusion of the most vulnerable youth. - Cultivate relationships and skills focused on identifying and expressing emotions, practicing self-empathy, empathetic listening, and emotional self-regulation, enabling participants to better support and guide vulnerable youth. - Investigate innovative approaches to encourage creativity and genuine self-expression through diverse media, while implementing these methods to enhance personal and social skills in young people—such as emotional and social intelligence, personal growth and self-reflection, bodily awareness, creativity, and self-esteem—particularly when engaging with youth facing mental health challenges, those with limited opportunities, and social exlusion. - Promote awareness on social inclusion, diversity, and sustainability in youth work, while learning how to implement these principles when working with young people facing fewer opportunities. - Introduce fresh techniques for connecting with our bodies, emphasising the transformative power of movement and mirroring practices to cultivate presence, awareness, and connection with others. - Equip youth workers with the knowledge and tools to employ innovative techniques for engaging with young people, including experiential movement methods, artistic and creative media, and utilising nature as a resource in their work. Additionally, participants will learn to adapt and apply these methods to meet their specific objectives. The training course, based on non-formal education methods and experiential learning, enhances the personal and professional development of youth workers, providing them with essential tools and skills to become empathetic mentors and create a nurturing, inclusive environment for at-risk youth. Moreover, Authentic by Nature, aims at the creation of a format which can be used as an example for building a safe, inclusive space that values and cherishes the diversity of participants and their individual experiences and approaches to life. It suggest tools to cultivate compassion toward oneself, others, and the natural world,(e.g. mirroring principles) while fostering a sense of belonging within both the community and the broader ecosystem.
