Objectives

The project responded to a growing need in schools to support students’ autonomy, well-being and ability to manage their own learning. Traditional teaching methods often focus mainly on academic content and leave less space for developing skills such as self-regulation, initiative, cooperation and responsibility. At the same time, teachers often lack practical examples of how non-formal learning approaches can be integrated into school environments. The project therefore aimed to explore how schools can combine formal and non-formal learning in a meaningful way. The main objectives of the project were to better understand how mentorship systems, project-based learning and student-led initiatives can support self-regulated learning, to exchange practical experiences between partner schools and to help teachers develop competences needed to support these approaches. Another objective was to reflect on how schools can organise learning environments that give students more responsibility and initiative. Through international cooperation and study visits, the project aimed to provide participants with concrete examples and ideas that they could adapt and apply in their own schools. The project also aimed to strengthen cooperation between the partner organisations and encourage teachers to continue developing non-formal learning approaches in their educational practice.
