The project was created due to the rates of discrimination increasing in not only the EU, but the world as a whole. People with “different” cultural, political, religious backgrounds as well as sexual orientation from others are socially rejected, and in turn this intolerance cultivates hatred and turns into avoidance to those we consider different from ourselves. The project wasn’t only intended to combat the fact that persons are targeted directly, but also the negative impact towards society. As presented in the original application, discrimination based on origin (meaning race and nationality) stood at 24.5%, disability at 22.7% and gender at 12.7%. Non-formal education based on different forms of art, and representation of culture were to be used in this project. These methods contribute to intercultural learning, physical and emotional development, such as using forum theatre, body movement (such as dance or otherwise) and art promote self-awareness, enhance communication without words and participants' individual expression of experiences in public.
