The primary objective of our project is to provide young people with accurate, comprehensive, and inclusive sex education, filling gaps often left by formal education systems. Through this youth exchange, we aim to empower participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to make informed decisions about their sexual health and relationships. By addressing issues such as sexual consent, gender identity, sexual orientation, social norms, and the challenges faced by marginalized groups (LGBTQ+ individuals, people with disabilities, and those with fewer opportunities), we seek to foster a more inclusive and respectful youth culture. From a youth work perspective, our objectives include: I) Promoting Inclusion and Diversity Our project strives to create an inclusive environment where young people from diverse backgrounds, including those facing discrimination, disability, and socio-economic challenges, can engage equally. We align with Erasmus+’s focus on inclusion by fostering mutual respect and understanding through youth-led activities. By sharing experiences and breaking down stereotypes, we reduce stigma related to sexuality and gender identity. II) Developing Life Skills through Non-Formal Education We will equip participants with essential life skills like communication, critical thinking, and decision-making through workshops, role-playing, and creative activities. These non-formal methods help young people navigate relationships, advocate for their rights, and positively impact their communities, ensuring that learning is both engaging and applicable to real life. III) Raising Awareness of Sexual and Reproductive Health Our project will provide young people with accurate information on sexual health, including contraception, STI prevention, and the importance of consent. By creating safe spaces for open discussion, youth workers will help participants learn about these crucial topics, empowering them to make informed decisions about their health and relationships. IV) Encouraging Intercultural Dialogue and Peer Learning The project will promote intercultural dialogue among participants from different countries, enhancing understanding, respect, and tolerance. Peer learning will be central, as participants share perspectives on gender, sexuality, and relationships, breaking down cultural barriers through structured group discussions and activities. V) Empowering Youth as Advocates for Inclusion We aim to empower participants to become advocates for inclusive sex education and human rights. Through workshops and leadership activities, they will be equipped to implement local initiatives that promote sexual health and inclusion in their communities, becoming agents of positive change. VI) Enhancing Mental Health and Well-Being Beyond sexual health, we will focus on supporting participants' mental health by discussing emotional well-being, self-esteem, and healthy relationships. Youth workers will facilitate discussions on setting personal boundaries and managing peer pressure, promoting emotional resilience and personal growth. VII) Strengthening the Capacity of Youth Workers and Organisations This project also aims to enhance the skills of youth workers and partner organizations. By engaging with diverse youth on sensitive topics, youth workers will expand their ability to deliver accessible, inclusive programs, ensuring sustainable community development. Ultimately, our project will have a lasting impact by equipping participants with the tools to create healthier, more inclusive communities while strengthening the skills of youth workers to continue delivering high-quality, inclusive education.
