Objectives

By implementing this project, we aim to empower young people to reconnect with nature, foster sustainable living practices, and preserve traditional knowledge related to health and well-being. Our overarching goal is to promote holistic personal development, environmental stewardship, and cross-cultural collaboration. The specific objectives from a youth work practice perspective include: Reconnecting Young People with Nature: We want to be encouraged to break away from our screen-based, urban lifestyles and rediscover the importance of the natural world. Through outdoor activities, we aim to develop a deeper connection with nature, enhancing their mental and physical well-being. Enhancing Social and Personal Development: Through collaborative, non-formal educational methods, we will develop crucial social skills, including teamwork, communication, and leadership. These activities will encourage face-to-face interactions, helping to reduce the anxiety and hesitation around real-life communication that has increased due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Promoting Sustainable Living: We will learn practical, sustainable practices from local communities in Pavliani, Greece. By integrating these practices into our own lives, we will be better equipped to address environmental challenges and live more eco-consciously, applying sustainable habits in their daily routines. Preserving Traditional Knowledge: By engaging in the creation of natural cosmetic and pharmaceutical products, we will learn how to preserve and apply traditional methods of health and well-being that are environmentally friendly. This objective aims to inspire a shift from chemical-based products to more sustainable, natural alternatives. Fostering Cross-Cultural Learning and Networking: The project brings together young people from Greece, Bulgaria, Italy, Denmark, and Egypt, offering opportunities for intercultural learning and collaboration. We will exchange traditional knowledge and practices, expanding their worldviews and fostering a global network of young environmental advocates. Empowering Youth through Hands-On Experience: Youth workers will facilitate experiential learning through workshops, discussions, and hands-on activities. This approach ensures that participants gain practical skills they can apply in both their personal and professional lives, empowering them to take an active role in sustainability and health practices.
