The project "Ecological Renaissance: Youth on the Frontline for a Sustainable Future" (ECO-FRONT) aims to empower young people to address environmental challenges and foster sustainable local communities. Through experiential learning, education, and active participation, the project will provide young people with the skills and knowledge to take on leadership roles in promoting sustainability and environmental awareness. The main objectives of the project are as follows: Youth Empowerment for Sustainability: To educate young people in sustainable practices and provide them with the tools to become active citizens who promote environmentally responsible behaviors in their communities. This will be achieved through experiential workshops, sustainable practices, and leadership skill development. Raising Social and Environmental Awareness: To increase young people's awareness of current environmental challenges and encourage their active involvement in actions aimed at protecting the environment. Participants will be encouraged to create and implement local initiatives to enhance environmental awareness. Building Collaboration Networks: To create a collaboration network among the young participants, local stakeholders, youth organizations, and environmental NGOs. The project will provide opportunities for young people to collaborate with other organizations and exchange experiences and best practices on environmental issues. Developing Leadership and Organizational Skills: To equip young people with leadership and organizational skills, enabling them to take on leadership roles in their communities and implement actions promoting sustainability. They will have the opportunity to develop skills such as event planning, communication, teamwork, and decision-making. Promoting Youth Civic Participation: To encourage young people's involvement in decision-making processes and social dialogue on environmental issues at local, regional, and European levels. Through the project, participants will develop advocacy skills and promote their views on sustainability to policymakers. Impact on the Local Community: To leave a lasting impact on local communities through the actions of the young participants. They will be encouraged to create local initiatives and organize environmental events that will affect the local community and promote a sense of collective responsibility for the environment. Perspective of Youth Work Practice The ECO-FRONT project focuses on youth work practice by using methods of experiential learning, participatory education, and youth empowerment. Young people are not mere recipients of knowledge; instead, they are called to actively participate, co-create, and take on leadership roles. The project activities are based on the principles of non-formal learning, where experience and active involvement are at the core of the process. By actively engaging young people, the project will help them develop skills necessary for their participation as active citizens and provide them with the confidence to drive positive changes in their communities. Moreover, building collaboration networks and enhancing intercultural understanding are essential aspects of youth work that are integrated into the project. Ultimately, ECO-FRONT aims to create a movement of young ambassadors for sustainability, who will continue to promote environmental values and actions, ensuring the long-term impact of the project.
