Digital competences are essential in all aspects of life, whether professional or personal, work-related or leisure-related, in any sector, public or private. The digital divide creates conditions of exclusion, leads to a democratic deficit, as it does not allow equal access for all. Our plan was an initiative to support the sustainable and effective adaptation of non-formal education and training systems for young people to the digital age, which: • offered a long-term strategic vision for high-quality, inclusive and accessible European digital education. • addressed the challenges and opportunities of the COVID-19 pandemic, which led to the unprecedented use of technology for education and training purposes. • sought and achieved stronger cooperation at EU level on digital education and highlighted the importance of cooperation between different states for inclusion and non-formal education in the digital age. • It highlighted opportunities, such as improved quality and quantity of intervention related to digital technologies, support for the digitalization of teaching methods and pedagogies and the provision of the infrastructure required for coherent and resilient distance education through non-formal learning. The main objective of the project was to train 24 young people and youth workers, who, at the end of the project, would be able to undertake the education of young people in their local communities, on issues of practical use and usefulness of the possibilities offered by modern digital tools, with non-formal learning methods, over and beyond those of school curricula or organized IT schools. Our current goal is to develop actions in everyday youth work, using digital tools, which actions are innovative and attractive for young people and at the same time offer digital literacy of non-formal education. The needs we wanted to cover with this plan do not stop only at the practical use of digital tools but also extend more generally to the following five areas: • Basic use of information and data • Communication and Collaboration Skills in a digital environment • Digital Content Creation Skills • Knowledge of risks and safety on the internet • Digital behaviors that are consistent with respect for the personality and diversity of the "other" • Active "digital citizen"
