“Small Steps, Big Changes: Forming Better Habits Together” is a Youth Exchange designed to promote healthier, sustainable habits among young people, helping them achieve their personal growth goals, improve their mental and physical well-being, and make more mindful choices for themselves. Today, around 30% of the youth population (aged 15-25) experiences moderate symptoms of anxiety, depression, or stress, with nearly 60% reporting mild symptoms. Anxiety disorders affect approximately 14% of adolescents and young people. Emotional disorders are one of the most prevalent challenges among youth, and many are unsure where to begin in addressing these issues or how to prevent them. This often leads to feelings of helplessness, isolation, and procrastination, making personal growth goals seem unattainable or too complex to achieve. In such cases, young people often resort to mindless scrolling on social media and withdrawal, which further impacts their mental and physical health. This project aims to provide young people with the tools and confidence to explore different methods of self-care and understand that they do not need to take extreme measures to experience positive changes in their lives. Through this initiative, we will foster a safe, supportive, and empathetic environment, encouraging young people to take small steps that can accumulate, form better habits, and help them reach their personal growth goals. Participants will engage in a series of workshops focused on learning about mental health and its connection to physical health, exploring mindfulness techniques and meditation, participating in outdoor activities and sports, and expressing themselves through art, dance, poetry, and other creative outlets. The project will offer a variety of methods to holistically approach well-being, helping participants discover what works best for them when creating good habits. Moreover, this project has the potential to make a significant impact on young people from diverse backgrounds, while also promoting cross-cultural understanding and cooperation. Specific Objectives of the Project: -Empower young people to develop a healthy mindset for creating new habits that improve their mental and physical well-being. -Provide opportunities for young people to explore different tools and methods that support their personal growth, including mindfulness, arts, self-reflection, outdoor activities, and sports. -Foster intercultural dialogue and promote respect for cultural diversity by bringing together participants from various countries and backgrounds. -Address the urgent need for greater awareness and action on mental and physical health among young people in Europe. -Develop project results, such as a habit planner, which can be used by participants and other youth beyond the project’s duration. -Encourage young people to promote good habits and mental and physical well-being in their local communities. -Promote the Erasmus+ Programme and encourage young people to participate in more initiatives under the program.
