Objectives

The project “Make it Greener” is an initiative that comes from the need of a greener future, and the fear of the consequence of the climate crisis that is going on every day in front of us. With this project, we aim at empowering young people to become ambassadors of social and ecological responsibility. We want to bring them knowledge, skills and motivation to promote sustainable consumption and reflect about its consequences for the natural world and in our society. Finally, we want participants to inspire their local communities and their surroundings, leading to positive changes to the community. The relevant issues that we found out that are at the base of our society are turning around the unawareness of people, especially youth, of the consumerism and environmental impact, as it leads to individualism, that has a bad impact both in well-being and the natural world. In this framework, we look at the youngsters generations so disconnected to nature and a profoundly disconnection in terms of sustainable lifestyles. At the same time, we see limited opportunities for youth engagement in environmental and societal issues. Our project aims to address pressing social and environmental issues by focusing on several key objectives. Firstly, we seek to increase awareness of environmental and ecological economics among young people. By educating them on the economic impacts of environmental degradation, we aim to foster a more informed and responsible generation. We also want to promote sustainable lifestyles and consumption habits. This involves encouraging young people to adopt practices that reduce waste and environmental impact, contributing to long-term ecological balance. In parallel, we will advocate for environmental protection measures. By emphasizing the importance of policies and actions that safeguard our natural resources, we hope to inspire youth to become active proponents of environmental conservation.A crucial aspect of our project is to reconnect individuals with nature. Through activities that immerse participants in natural settings, we aim to direct their appreciation for the environment and highlight the importance of ecological preservation.Furthermore, we aim to foster community and cooperation. By promoting collective action and shared responsibility, we intend to build stronger, more cohesive communities that work together towards common environmental and social goals. To ensure the active involvement of young people, we will provide opportunities for their participation in environmental and social initiatives. This hands-on involvement is designed to empower youth and give them a sense of agency in creating positive change. Additionally, our project will encourage social inclusion. We strive to create inclusive environments where all participants feel valued and supported, regardless of their background. Lastly, we recognize the importance of mental well-being, and thus, we aim to support mental health through our initiatives. By fostering a sense of belonging and purpose, and promoting outdoor activities that reduce stress, we contribute to the overall well-being of our participants.
