The main objective of the project is to address the pressing social barriers that young people today face, in particular the negative effects of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital media on their perception of body image. The project aims to create a safe space for open dialogue and raise awareness of the continuing weight of unattainable beauty standards promoted by social media and artificial intelligence algorithms. The project aims to encourage in-depth discussion between youth leaders and young participants by addressing important issues such as eating disorders and difficulties of adaptation to society. One of the main objectives is to critically evaluate digital content and understand the impact of artificial intelligence on media consumption and the dangers of manipulated images (such as Deepfake, FaceApp, augmented reality filters, images made for AI). Through interactive sessions, participants will acquire digital skills essential for personal and professional growth. These skills include the responsible use of digital technology and the ability to create effective campaigns. Armed with these skills, youth workers will be able to implement and disseminate communication campaigns that promote inclusion and mental health in their communities. In addition, the constructive dialogue will focus on society’s beauty standards, particularly the effects exacerbated by artificial intelligence and social media. Youth workers will be able to discuss topics on how to balance self-acceptance with health, addressing the limits of movement such as body positivity and also discussing the excessive normalization of unhealthy behaviors. Another objective is to encourage creativity and freedom of expression among participants. This project promotes the development of innovative approaches to address the challenges of digital media. The campaigns can be shared on digital platforms such as Instagram and TikTok to maximize the reach and impact. Ultimately, this project will provide youth workers with long-lasting skills which can be applied not only during the project but also in their daily work with young people to deal with critical social issues such as stress, the competition and digital overload provided to the person. At the end of the project, participants will be able to lead discussions on these topics, design digital strategies and implement solutions that promote a healthier online environment.
