Objectives

The project "Job Shadowing in Morocco: Empowering Young Women" arises from the needs identified among young women in the Euro-Mediterranean area, where family traditions and cultural pressures continue to exclude them from society, relegating them to arranged family lives in which they lack rights. A specific case that illustrates this issue is that of a young Moroccan woman named Khadija, who in 2018 was the victim of rape by a group of men. Despite having previously reported harassment and assaults, she did not receive adequate protection. Following the attack, Khadija suffered severe physical and psychological injuries. This case highlights how traditions and social structures can contribute to gender-based violence, emphasizing the importance of empowering young women to claim their rights and access a life free from violence. In this context, the project aims to contribute to the empowerment of young Moroccan women, especially those who are most vulnerable in rural areas. It seeks to promote inclusion, gender equality, and active citizenship, creating opportunities that enable these young women to reach their full potential and participate fully in society. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES Empower Young Women through Youth Work: Providing the necessary tools and knowledge to raise awareness about gender inequality so they can intervene and support young women from disadvantaged backgrounds. Strengthen the Self-Esteem and Confidence of Young Women: Through activities that promote their self-worth and self-confidence. Engage Young People in Civic Life: Encouraging their participation in decision-making processes and community activities. Create NETWORKS of Collaboration: Facilitating the exchange of experiences and knowledge through digital and sustainable means to share best practices. Digital Literacy: Improving the ability of youth workers to interact with young people and organizations. Create Sustainable Change in Youth Work Practices: Developing new action protocols for youth workers and other change agents involved in their daily work with vulnerable youth. Develop Strategies to Ensure Project Sustainability: Promoting learning and collaboration beyond the project's completion. Promote the Erasmus+ Program: With projects aimed at empowering young women. Raise Social Awareness and Advocate for Young Women’s Rights: As well as for gender equality The project activity will take place in Morocco from October 10 to 21, 2025. A total of 4 youth workers from the Adefis Juventud organization and a group of youth workers from Morocco will participate more two trainers. Non-formal education will be used, with English as the working language. The methodology will be empirical, based on observation and fieldwork, with clear objectives and specific goals defined for observation. Action itineraries will be developed and planned through active observation. There will also be moments of evaluation, reflection, and feedback, where follow-up will be fundamental. This methodology facilitates practical learning and understanding of different job roles. For 12 days, youth workers will share and develop best practices aimed at creating action protocols to empower young women, especially those from rural areas, and to promote gender equality, non-discrimination in any form, and active citizenship. This will be accomplished through workshops, field visits, awareness-raising activities, interviews with young women, group dynamics that foster cohesion and collaboration among youth from different backgrounds, evaluations, and reflection sessions, among other activities. These initiatives will not only enrich the experience of the youth workers but will also contribute to strengthening local communities The implementation of this project not only has the potential to empower young women from rural areas, but it will also contribute to creating a more equitable and sustainable environment. By promoting gender equality and non-discrimination, social barriers that limit the development of young women can be dismantled. Furthermore, the best practices and protocols developed by youth workers will not only enrich their training but will also lead to a positive impact in their local communities. Collaboration among young people from different contexts will promote social cohesion and active citizenship, generating a sense of belonging and shared responsibility. They will be given a voice and encouraged to be agents of change in their own lives and their surroundings.
