This project aims to train youth workers from rural areas of different European countries to intervene and promote, especially among young people, the construction of a more inclusive society by incorporating a perspective that defends the rights of LGTBIQ+ people and promotes participation and local associations as a tool to transform hate speech and LGBTIQphobic discourses. In addition, the project will be based on the recognition of local LGTBIQ+ associations' work in rural areas as agents of community dynamization and promoters of human rights at the local level. The specific objectives of the project are as follows: 1. To create a safe space for participants to share their experiences and strengthen their capacities. 2. To analyze the different aspects of GSD discrimination and gender-based violence in each participating country, and how the rise of the right-wing extremism/hate speech in Europe in recent years affects LGTBphobia and LGBT rights. 4. To analyze rural LGTBIQ+ realities, the differences between areas of Europe and within each area, differentiate between urban and rural realities. 5. To collectively reflect on the expulsion of dissident people in rural environments, known as “sexile” and thus the development of collective strategies to combat it and how municipalities in rural areas can offer a safe spaces from lgtbiphobia. 6. To exchange good practices and learn about local projects around the topic discussed. 7. To promote local and international associationism as a tool to transform hate speech. To reflect on the power of participation and associationism in rural areas, strengths and limitations. 8. To explore the issues from a decolonial and anti-racist perspective in order to focus on the different levels of discrimination and privilege.
