Objectives

The title "Inviting a monkey to tea: befriending your mind" symbolizes the process of understanding and embracing the complex nature of our minds, much like taming a restless monkey. In the context of our training program for youth workers, this metaphor extends to developing skills to assist young people in managing their own mental health effectively. Just as one might invite a monkey to tea to gently tame its wild impulses, youth workers will learn techniques to help youngsters acknowledge and calm their turbulent thoughts and emotions. This training aims to equip participants with the tools to foster a friendly, understanding approach towards mental health, encouraging youth to relax their relentless pursuit of happiness and find peace in their true selves. This understanding is crucial for youth workers as they guide young people through the intricacies of their mental landscapes, helping them to befriend their minds without fear or resistance.
