The main goal of our project was to strengthen peace, intercultural understanding and solidarity among young people from different parts of Europe. At a time when conflicts such as the war in Ukraine, the situation in Gaza, and the occupied regions of Georgia affect many young people directly, we wanted to create a safe space to talk about peace, share experiences and learn from one another. We aimed to bring together a culturally diverse group and help participants understand each other’s backgrounds, reduce prejudices and build meaningful international friendships. By working, learning and living together, young people developed greater empathy, confidence and awareness of life outside their own “bubble”. Another important objective was to increase knowledge about Europe, the values of peace, and the opportunities offered by programmes like Erasmus+. We also wanted to show participants—especially those from Georgia and Ukraine—how European societies function and what it means to be part of a peaceful and democratic community. In addition, we promoted green travel by encouraging participants to reach the project destination mainly by land. Through shared activities and reflection, young people learned about both sustainable mobility and the environmental impact of travel. Overall, the project aimed to: - increase peace awareness and dialogue among young people - support intercultural learning and reduce prejudice - strengthen international friendships and cooperation - raise understanding of European values and opportunities - promote sustainable, low-emission travel - empower youth through leadership and group work
