Objectives

In today’s world, with advancing technology and changing living conditions, there is a widespread sense of hatred within society, particularly among young people. Across the globe, many different cultures, languages, races, religions, and ideologies coexist. However, among young people who do not exhibit enough tolerance toward these differences, hatred and prejudice are steadily increasing. Many factors contribute to the formation of this hatred. Sometimes it stems from wars, sometimes from migration, from entrenched ideologies of the past, or from personal ambitions brought about by today’s world, along with misguidance and mislabeling. Biased, divisive, and provocative publications in both media and social media further fuel this hatred. Despite living in an era where communication tools are at their most powerful, people have unfortunately forgotten how to truly communicate and the value of love. The love for material possessions has far surpassed the love for our shared human values. This has left young people intolerant of differences and distanced from love, making them more susceptible to hatred, one of today’s most dangerous emotional weapons. This growing sentiment of hatred has caused numerous problems in social life. The 2024 Paris Olympics presents a unifying force to combat existing hatred in society and spread messages of tolerance, peace, and love worldwide. The Olympics hosted by France could go down in history not only for sporting achievements but also as an event that brings humanity together, standing against hate and promoting love and tolerance. French authors have also expressed profound and impactful ideas about hate, love, and discrimination. Voltaire’s famous quote, “Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities,” points out how ideologies can fuel hate and discrimination. This underlines the importance of youth thinking critically and not being influenced by the media, social media, society, or politics. Another notable French writer, Emile Zola, said, “If you shut up truth and bury it underground, it will but grow, and gather to itself such explosive power that the day it bursts through, it will blow up everything in its way.” Zola conveys that hatred and discrimination, when repressed, will one day surface destructively, and that the truth cannot be suppressed. Therefore, it is crucial for young people to adopt an empathetic approach, cultivate a positive outlook on life, and accept differences as they are. This can prevent the accumulation of negative feelings and the eventual outburst of hatred, allowing them to address situations positively in the future. Project Goals: Our project seeks to reinforce the culture of tolerance and support social cohesion by encouraging individuals to question their own prejudices. Planned activities and workshops will help young people build peaceful relationships within their communities and promote these connections. Our specific objectives include: Educating young people about the causes of hate. Raising awareness of biased news fueled by hate in media and social media. Strengthening the culture of tolerance among youth. Encouraging dialogue and discussions among youth to promote understanding and respect for differences.
