Objectives

The aim of this project was to empower young people to become influential global citizens by bridging the gap between formal education and intercultural competence. In an increasingly interconnected world, we recognized that technical knowledge must be paired with a deep understanding of cultural nuances to create truly inclusive environments. The exchange aimed to foster intercultural understanding, personal growth, and environmental awareness among young people through a collaborative exchange program that combines cultural exploration, outdoor activities, and community engagement. The youth exchange is based on Experiential Learning and and correspondingly the objectives of the project are: By implementing this project, we sought to achieve three primary pillars of impact: Intercultural Fluency: Moving beyond simple "tolerance" toward active appreciation and the ability to bridge cultural divides within local communities. Holistic Well-being: Utilizing outdoor education to link physical health with mental and social development, fostering a lifestyle that is both active and reflective. Youth-Led Synergy: Building on the momentum of previous exchanges (notably in Normandy), this project aimed to transition participants from passive learners to active designers of their own international experiences. To realize this vision, the exchange was designed around the Experiential Learning methodology. The project set out to fulfill the following strategic objectives: To Cultivate Cross-Cultural Dialogue: Facilitate structured and organic communication channels between participants to dismantle stereotypes and build lasting international networks. To Foster Deep Cultural Appreciation: Move beyond surface-level observations to develop empathy and a profound respect for the diverse perspectives and historical backgrounds represented within the group. To Enhance Leadership and Collaborative Competence: Strengthen participants' ability to lead and cooperate within multicultural teams through high-stakes outdoor challenges and team-building exercises. To Promote Personal and Physical Well-being: Utilize nature-based activities to demonstrate the vital link between environmental engagement, physical health, and mental resilience. To Drive Environmental Stewardship: Inspire a proactive attitude toward conservation, encouraging participants to recognize their role in protecting the natural heritage that serves as the backdrop for their shared experiences. To Empower Peer-Led Learning: Provide a platform where youth workers and participants can exchange best practices, ensuring the skills gained are transferred back to their respective local communities.
