Objectives

This exchange will bring together young French and young Greeks, aged 16 to 29, around questions of cultural heritage, democratic practices and respect for the environment. This involves encouraging the democratic practices of young people by drawing inspiration from the cultural heritage of nations and territories, to strengthen their places in the governance of partner associations, in their local civic life, as well as as European citizens, taking into account the environmental issues that concern them. This project will allow young people to explore these 3 themes in greater depth, through artistic and environmental achievements, and thus to convey messages with a positive perspective of the future, where action is possible. Intercultural collective action is a response to the anxiety caused by the democratic crisis and climate change. In an approach to local social development, popular education and intercultural education, young people will participate in all stages of the project. they interact between French and Greeks over the 20 months, and will drive a collective dynamic across the two associations. Thus the participants, their loved ones and the actors of the 2 organizations will gain in learning on democratic aspects, cultural and intercultural openness and ecological transition. Collective productions carried out during mobility will become a common good serving the territories. Belle Rive is developing an approach to meeting young people in public spaces, in gathering and educational places which allows it to create links with young people in the region, some of whom have fewer opportunities. . We support collective projects of young people based on their desires and needs. Each project is considered a training space, which aims to develop their capacity to be free and therefore their capacity to act. They expressed their desire to live concrete intercultural experiences beyond borders. The partner association ASTO is a center for creativity, art, culture and sport. Activities aim to raise members' awareness of social, environmental and cultural issues, as well as to promote solidarity among people around the world. They also support collective youth projects. This project was born from our shared values and ambitions to actively participate in democratic, cultural and climate debates, alongside young citizens by sharpening our critical senses and our creativity. This exchange will allow young people to concretely discover another democratic practice of a European country, to perceive the cultural heritage of another European territory, and to glimpse climate change in another part of Europe. These discoveries and the meeting of young Franco-Greeks will be the breeding ground for multiple European initiatives to act collectively in their territory of life.
