Move to reconnect (abbreviated MOVE) is a KA152 project under the European Commission's Erasmus+ programme. It grew out of a number of experiences in rural areas with young adults in the process of vocational training. The aim of organising this youth exchange, aimed at people aged between 18 and 30, was to respond to the challenges of social integration for young people recently integrated into working life. The need to integrate quickly into society by finding a career path through study and work is a major source of anxiety for this generation. Opposed to the contemporary challenges of sustainable development, these challenges frequently generate eco-anxiety and a feeling of guilt that need to be addressed through individual actions such as alternative lifestyles in terms of dietary or sportive practices, for instance. It is with this in mind that this project was born, with the ambition of being implemented in the summer of 2025 at the Affable farm in Liederschiedt in Alsace (France). We wanted to invite participants to this European mobility scheme in order to help them discover and immerse themselves in the rural and agricultural world. This was a very promising opportunity for young Europeans to open up to French culture and the intercultural dialogue promoted by this type of project, as well as discovering the many local events that usually take place in the region at this time of year. The main aim of the project was to encourage participants to free themselves from the anxiety and doubt inherent in traditional modes of consumption, which are at odds with the challenges of a sustainable ecological transition. In addition, time for individual and collective reflection on the place of each individual in our modern societies would be a major asset in helping participants to assert themselves as individuals so that they can be respected and support their own projects in their respective communities. An environmental component was included, with participants being strongly encouraged to learn about and promote environmentally-friendly practices in various aspects (travel, food, exchange of practices with ecological value that meet everyday needs, as well as many associated educational activities).
