In a context marked by the rise of extremist ideologies in Europe, Muslim communities frequently find themselves at the heart of political rhetoric, suffering increasing dehumanisation. The recent ban on abayas in French schools, widely perceived as an act of Islamophobia, is only the visible manifestation of a deeper societal problem. Given this worrying situation, the European Day of Action against Islamophobia, celebrated on 21 September and initiated by the Council of Europe, highlights the urgent need to take action against this discrimination. Our project is part of this dynamic, with the aim of raising awareness and actively combating Islamophobia, while promoting tolerance and intercultural understanding. By tackling the issue of Islamophobia head-on, we aim to deconstruct stereotypes and prevent hate speech and hate crimes. This project aims to strengthen security and inclusion within society, creating a safer environment for all. Through this youth exchange, we offer a space for open and caring dialogue, where participants can share their experiences, discuss solutions implemented in their respective countries, and explore how Islamophobia and religious hatred impact social cohesion and mental health. Our aim is to help build fairer, more egalitarian and more inclusive societies, where every individual, whatever their religion, is respected and valued. HUTI is an invitation to all those who share this vision of a more inclusive and tolerant Europe. Together, we can make a significant impact in the fight against Islamophobia and, more broadly, against religious hatred. This project represents a step towards a future where diversity and inclusion are not just accepted, but celebrated.
