The main objective of this project was to strengthen the competences of youth workers, mentors, and trainers in managing and responding effectively to challenging behaviours among young people. We aimed to provide them with concrete tools and practical strategies to better understand the underlying causes of problematic behaviours and to respond in an appropriate way, while also promoting overall well-being , both for the young people and for the youth professionals themselves. The project particularly targeted young people facing stress, isolation, anxiety, depression, burnout, or other emotional and social difficulties. These situations can lead to complex or challenging behaviours, requiring an approach that is both empathetic and structured, with a strong focus on prevention and emotional support. Participants were therefore trained to identify signs of distress, to understand the psychological and social mechanisms behind these behaviours, and to intervene constructively in order to foster well-being, resilience, and personal development among young people. The specific objectives of the project were: To strengthen the understanding of challenging behaviours: helping participants identify the underlying causes of problematic behaviours (such as stress, anxiety, or emotional fatigue) and recognise signs of distress among young people. To develop assertive communication and conflict management skills: training participants to use non-violent communication techniques, handle conflict situations, and maintain mutual respect in interactions with young people. To foster self-awareness, emotional regulation, and personal well-being: enabling participants to assess their own reactions, remain calm and assertive in difficult situations, and adopt constructive attitudes that promote a positive and caring environment. To encourage teamwork and collaborative problem-solving: creating group situations that simulate real-life fieldwork to strengthen cooperation, mutual understanding, and the ability to find collective solutions. To integrate sustainability and environmental awareness: showing how ecological awareness, reconnection with nature, and sustainable practices can encourage responsible and positive behaviour among young people. To promote the personal and professional development of participants: providing them with practical tools and methods to enhance their daily practice, strengthen their emotional balance, and create an environment that supports the well-being and personal growth of young people.
