The central goal of this project was to empower youth workers with the knowledge, practical skills, and educational tools necessary to champion gender equality in both their professional roles and their wider communities. Understanding the influential position that youth workers often hold—as mentors, educators, and change-makers—the project aimed to strengthen their capacity to recognize, challenge, and dismantle gender-based stereotypes, biases, and discriminatory practices. By fostering an inclusive, human rights-based perspective, the initiative sought to prepare participants to be proactive advocates for gender equity. To achieve this, the project outlined several key objectives: 1. Enhance Awareness and Understanding: The project aimed to deepen participants' awareness of gender equality issues, providing a strong theoretical and practical foundation. This included examining how gender dynamics operate in everyday life and understanding the systemic nature of inequality. 2. Build Competence in Educational Methods: A core focus was placed on equipping youth workers with innovative non-formal education tools and participatory methods. These are essential for effectively addressing gender topics with young people and communities in a relatable and impactful way. 3. Examine Gender in Society: Participants explored how gender roles and inequalities manifest across various sectors—including education, healthcare, politics, media, cultural practices, science, and technology—offering a holistic view of the societal structures that influence gender norms. 4. Encourage Cross-Cultural Dialogue: The project provided a space for international and intercultural exchange, allowing youth workers from diverse backgrounds to share experiences, reflect on challenges, and collaboratively seek solutions to common gender-related issues. 5. Support Personal and Local Action: A key outcome of the project was the development of Personal Action Plans. These plans helped participants design concrete follow-up initiatives to promote gender equality in their own local environments, ensuring the sustainability and relevance of the training. 6. Align with Erasmus+ Values: The project was firmly aligned with the broader goals of the Erasmus+ program, particularly its emphasis on social inclusion, digital transformation in education, and fostering active civic engagement among young people. The overarching, long-term vision of the project was to spark a ripple effect: by equipping youth workers to act as ambassadors for gender equality, their influence would extend far beyond the training room. Through their ongoing work, these individuals would inspire cultural and institutional shifts in their communities, helping to build societies that are more inclusive, fair, and equitable for all.
