Physical and mental health, well-beingInclusion of marginalised young peopleBridging intercultural, intergenerational and social divide

Objectives

By implementing this project, we aim to tackle the significant youth mental health crisis that is exacerbated by a variety of unsettling global events, including ongoing wars, environmental degradation, and the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. These crises contribute to a heightened sense of insecurity and vulnerability among young people, which is reflected in alarming statistics indicating that 59% of youth globally are extremely concerned about climate change, with many experiencing what is termed “climate distress.” This growing psychological vulnerability underscores the urgent need for effective mental health interventions tailored to the unique challenges faced by young people today. Our primary goal is to enhance resilience among young people, which is crucial for fostering the development of more robust and supportive communities. Resilience not only helps young people navigate their current challenges but also equips them with the skills to face future uncertainties. To achieve this goal, we will focus on several specific objectives that are designed to empower youth workers in their roles as trainers: 1.Increase knowledge of 32 youth workers about training activities based on group-dynamic principles during a 7 day TC in Cabris 2.Increase knowledge of 32 youth workers on how to use bodily-oriented practices in different stages of group development 3.Co-crate an interactive brochure (with videos/) on how to use bodily-oriented practices as trainers in different stages of group development 4.32 youth workers from 8 organizations will increase their level of international cooperation in the field of youth work 5.we will create 3 new project sketches In addition to these objectives, our project is deeply aligned with key European priorities, particularly in the areas of inclusion and digitalization. We recognize that many young people facing mental health challenges often self-exclude from activities and social situations, which can exacerbate their feelings of isolation. By equipping youth workers with new tools and strategies, we aim to promote greater inclusion, especially for marginalized groups, including Ukrainian refugee communities and those facing fewer opportunities. Furthermore, we will enhance the digital skills of youth workers by training them to utilize platforms such as YouTube and TikTok effectively. In an increasingly digital world, these skills are essential for engaging young people in meaningful conversations about mental health and resilience. By harnessing the power of digital tools, youth workers can reach a wider audience and create more engaging content that resonates with young people. Ultimately, by addressing the mental health challenges faced by young people and equipping youth workers with the necessary tools, we aim to promote greater well-being and resilience among youth. This initiative is designed not only to support individual young people but also to contribute to the development of healthier, more inclusive communities. By aligning our project with the UN Sustainable Development Goals—specifically Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), Goal 4 (Quality Education), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals)—we ensure that our work has a meaningful and lasting impact on the communities we serve, fostering a brighter future for young people across Europe.
