The project “Facilitation Guide” was developed in response to the needs identified by partner organisations working with diverse groups of young people across Europe, including those facing social exclusion, low participation, and barriers related to migration, inequality and access to opportunities. Partners operate in different contexts: some focus on inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities (Romania, Hungary), others work with migrant and refugee youth and host communities (Poland, Turkey, France), while some address challenges such as radicalisation (Italy, Belgium) or low civic engagement (Greece, Croatia). The project aimed to build competences of youth work practitioners in organizing, implementing and evaluating inclusive educational activities and to structure the learning process in the effective way through efficient communication in order for young people to fully benefit from youth work addressing current issues of nowadays and youth empowerment at local level as well as support youth workers’ self-assessment and personal and professional development. Training course objectives were: -to build a necessary set of competences for proficient use of NFE instruments and tools for youth empowerment at local level -To develop essential facilitation competences ( diverse communication skills: active listening, active speaking, powerful questions, instructions, debriefing, competences linked to group management: giving and receiving feedback, group dynamics, motivation and empowerment, dealing with ambiguity, non-violent communication, range of facilitator's attitudes: non-judgemental approach, neutrality, respect for inclusion and diversity of opinions, ability to transmit values through facilitation etc.) - To discover diverse facilitation techniques and tools for inclusive youth work to increase youth workers’ awareness regarding their own values, beliefs, attitudes and behaviour, regarding cultural and self expression (considering the use of voice, intonation, body language, gestures, positioning, use of space, mimics etc.) and about own communication patterns in various (learning) settings -to promote networking and cooperation between youth workers and support follow-up initiatives The training course was implemented from 11 to 19 April 2025 (including travel days) in Lisieux, France, and involved 30 participants (27 youth workers and 3 trainers) from 9 countries: France, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Turkey, Italy, Belgium, Greece and Croatia.
