The Pathways project aimed to strengthen civic engagement and the participation of young people from the Périgord area, especially young people living in rural areas and with fewer opportunities, through European mobility experiences, collective reflection activities and a final participatory event. The project responded to several needs identified in the territory: isolation of rural youth, mobility difficulties, limited access to European opportunities and low involvement in local community life. The main objectives were to: * encourage civic engagement and youth participation; * facilitate access to European mobility opportunities for young people with little exposure to international experiences; * strengthen cooperation between associations, socio-educational organisations and local institutional stakeholders; * develop participants’ self-confidence, autonomy and social skills; * promote European values, inclusion, intercultural dialogue and the fight against discrimination. Despite a significant reduction of the initially requested budget, the project was refocused on the organisation of a participatory final event, designed as a moment for sharing experiences, highlighting participants’ pathways and bringing together young people, partners and local stakeholders. This event made it possible to preserve the project’s core objectives by creating a space for expression, dialogue and collective reflection on youth engagement in rural areas and on European mobility pathways.
