Objectives

The project offered an innovative, inclusive, and participatory initiative aiming empowerment of young people to become true agents of social change while promoting their personal growth and professional development. Structured around two main objectives, the project aimed, on the one hand, to encourage active participation of young people in decision-making processes and local life, and on the other hand, to offer them mobility opportunities that fostered cultural openness, discovery, and intercultural learning. This project fully aligned with the philosophy of the Erasmus+ program, which promotes mobility, active citizenship, and social inclusion for young people. It emphasized youth as a transformative force and as a key driver in building a more solidarity-based, equitable, and responsible society. One of the project’s primary objectives was to stimulate citizenship participation and strengthen young people’s engagement in their local community. In this context, the project was framed around a special event: the celebration of Valdocco’s 30th anniversary, a historic organization dedicated to supporting and integrating young people. This commemoration provided a unique opportunity to involve young people in the festivities and to highlight Valdocco's history, while allowing them to express their vision for the future and their role in society. Thus, the project allowed young people to co-create and actively participate in symbolic and participatory activities surrounding this anniversary. These moments of exchange and collective creation fostered a sense of belonging, personal initiative, and the development of a sense of responsibility. Beyond its local focus, the project also placed strong emphasis on the creation of networks between young people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and geographic contexts. By encouraging these encounters, the project contributed to the emergence of lasting intercultural connections, carrying a genuine human and social dimension. These exchanges enabled participants to discover other realities, learn how to work in teams within a multicultural framework, and develop the open-mindedness essential in today’s globalized world. They also promoted solidarity, tolerance, and mutual understanding, values that are core to the Erasmus+ program.
